Devices will be checked out to students at Material Pick Up. Sophomores MUST bring their Chromebooks and chargers back to turn in and be issued a new device. Students will have step-by-step procedures to follow (with the help of staff members) to log in and connect to wifi properly. This process is very important and requires the student to be present and have the device checked out using their student ID and Google credentials. Any student unable to attend may check out their device from the Technology Help Desk in room C1122 on the first day of school.

Schedule Changes

Schedules will go live Tuesday, August 11th. Check each period to make sure your schedule looks accurate. No level changes, elective changes or blended changes will be made. Here are the ONLY reasons you may see a counselor during Material Pick Up:

No class scheduled for a particular period
Missing lunch (Lunch is built into AP Chemistry, AP Calculus BC and Link Crew)
Missing prerequisite for scheduled course
Scheduled for a class you’ve already passed
Unfilled upper-level elective request
Unfilled music or world language request
Seniors missing a graduation requirement
Selecting an elective if you were assigned a study hall without requesting it

Book Checkout

All textbooks checked out to students at Material Pick Up must be returned to the school and properly scanned back into the system. We will provide an opportunity to return books at the end of each semester. If a schedule change occurs or for any other reason a student no longer needs a book, it is the responsibility of the student to return the book to their Pod.

Failure to properly return the book may result in the student being charged to replace the book if it cannot be recovered. Failure to return books or other checked-out materials or pay the cost to replace the books or materials in full may result in diplomas and transcripts being held until they are returned. Students should never turn in textbooks to a teacher. If a mid-year exit occurs, they must be returned to either the book room at the proper return time or to the East Pod office.

Student Lockers

Lockers are not automatically assigned to students, as most choose to carry their backpacks throughout the school day. However, lockers are available upon request at any time during the school year. If you'd like to request a locker for the 2026–2027 school year before school begins, complete this form. Students must use their school district email to access the form. If you'd like a locker assigned before school starts, this form must be completed by August 2nd.

Your locker assignment can be viewed beginning August 5th in PowerSchool.

Freshmen Raider Rally

August 14, 2026 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Freshman year can be daunting, and it's normal for students to feel a bit nervous (or maybe really nervous). To support them, we've developed an optional but highly recommended program for students to attend.

The Raider Rally is a Huntley High School Tradition! This is the 19th year the Rally will run, welcoming the newest freshman class. The Raider Rally is hosted by a group of upperclassmen students known as Link Crew leaders. The goal of the Rally is to make the Class of 2030 feel welcome, meet a few new people, take a tour, and gain advice from upperclassmen who have found success at HHS. Freshmen leave the Rally with a sense of relief and excitement for the start of school!

Details:

Freshmen should wear comfortable clothes/gym shoes and be prepared to sit on a classroom floor.
Please eat breakfast before attending.
Students do not need to bring anything.
Drop-off is on the east side of the building at door 10 (Athletics Entrance) at 8 am

Back to School Night

Wednesday, August 26th 4:30 p.m. to 6:25 p.m.

This is a great time to visit our school and experience a little of what your child does each day. Our teachers will be sharing information about their class expectations and what your child can do to be successful.

You will follow your student’s schedule, 1st hour through 8th hour. You will have 10 minutes in each class with 5-minute passing periods. Don’t worry, our Link Crew leaders will help point you in the right direction, and maps will be available at Door 1 and the main staircase. We encourage students to attend, though it is not required. Here is the bell schedule for the evening:

1^st: 4:30 – 4:40
2^nd: 4:45 – 4:55
3^rd: 5:00 – 5:10
4^th: 5:15 – 5:25
5^th: 5:30 – 5:40
6^th: 5:45 – 5:55
7^th: 6:00 – 6:10
8^th: 6:15 – 6:25

We will begin 1^st hour promptly at 4:30. If you have visited our school before, you know the traffic can get heavy at times. Please allow extra time to arrive early and make it to your 1st hour class on time. Parking will be available in the East and West parking lots as well as the bus lot in the front of the building.

Please bring a copy of your student’s schedule with you. You may also find their schedule on PowerSchool.

During your child’s lunch hour, our counselors will be presenting pertinent information by grade level:

Freshmen: “How’s the Transition Going?”
- During 4^th period (freshmen lunch), you are invited to the Cafeteria for a Q&A session on the successful transition to high school.
Sophomores – Seniors: “College and Career Readiness”
- During your student’s lunch period, 5^th or 6^th hour, you are invited to go to the Cafeteria for an introduction to the school counselors. Counselors will also be available for a Q&A session on post-secondary planning, continuing academic success, and furthering social/emotional well-being.

2025-2026 Harmony Yearbook Distribution

If you still need to pick up your 2025-2026 Harmony Yearbook, please attend the make-up distribution on Wednesday, August 26 from 4 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. at Door 27.

As a reminder, any family/friend may pick up a student's book with the purchase number or student ID number. We realize many graduates are already off to college, so we recommend a family/friend pick up their book for them.
